The London Routemaster is one of the world’s most iconic and beautiful vehicles. It is that rare thing – an elegant and brilliant piece of design that also served a useful function, transporting millions across London years ago. Sadly, they were taken out of service and are now almost extinct.
The Rosebery is unique: a chic cocktail bar downstairs with an elegant dining area upstairs that has a roof that rises up at the touch of a button.
She can be taken to events, or parties - across Europe or further afield - by private or corporate clients.
The Rosebery is a 1966 Routemaster that worked in London for over thirty years. Her last route was up Rosebery Avenue in Islington.
There has been extraordinary attention to detail on her restoration and conversion. The finest oak, the most exquisite leather and shagreen and the country’s most distinguished craftsmen have been employed.
The advisors behind the project include one of the world’s most inspired restaurant and bar designers, David Collins.
The Rosebery is set to bring unrivalled originality, élan and fun to all the events she attends whether at Glyndebourne, Goodwood or Glastonbury or at a wedding, birthday party or anniversary.
The Rosebery experience is extremely flexible. She is available for exclusive use at private homes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or other parties. She will also be taken to the most important and exclusive occasions in the social and sporting calendar throughout the year - including a select number of festivals.
The Rosebery has its own team of highly professional and experienced events managers who oversee all aspects of a client's experience from start to finish. We also work with a very select number of the country’s leading events organisers and party planners.
The Rosebery seats 18 in considerable comfort on the top deck on dark green leather banquettes and chairs. Downstairs seats a further six - eight in the bar area. There is standing room for 30 on the top deck.
With her own awning, and the capacity to sit within her own marquee if required, she can cater for a broad variety of events. From ten people having dinner in their garden prepared by the country’s leading chefs such as Mark Hix or restaurants such as Zuma, to a cocktail party for 150 with music, canapés and a dance floor. She has a fully integrated sound system.
Motor cruisers of the 1930s inspire her cocktail bar. There is full heating on board - and cooling - and a pair of discreet flat screen televisions, one inside and one outside, to allow guests to catch the first race and see replays during a Formula 1 Grand Prix or at Cowes or the cricket.
There is a Games Cupboard onboard including backgammon, cards, croquet, badminton, cricket and boules as well as wi-fi.
The Rosebery provides a comprehensive food and drink service designed to fulfil the specific requirements of each client. This might be cocktails and canapés or brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. We can work with the leading chefs in the country if requested.
The Rosebery is also available for product launches and tailored branding opportunities at the discretion of her owners.
The Rosebery can be situated at a wide variety of locations according to the wishes of the client.
In some cases this will be a private garden while in others it will be at a specific event, festival or sporting occasion.
She has access to many of these events or we can work with clients who already have their own access.
The Rosebery has a fully reconditioned engine and can travel across the United Kingdom and into Europe.
If required to travel worldwide, she can be put on a transporter or flown.
The Rosebery has access to the key sporting occasions, social events and festivals in the calendar.
The food and drink served on The Rosebery will be specific to each event or occasion and will be of exceptional quality in keeping with her design and the service on board from the waiting and cocktail bar staff.
We do not simply work with one caterer or chef, part of the service is working with clients to create lunches and dinners that are particularly memorable and unique.
The team behind The Rosebery has exceptional contacts with the country’s leading chefs and restaurants.
To this end The Rosebery will be working with everyone from Zuma to Mark Hix.
The Rosebery has its own sommelier to advise on wine and cocktails.
